A total of 246 educators at UGM received CPNS (Civil Servant Candidate) and Permanent Lecturer decrees, with 166 receiving Civil Servant Candidate Appointment Decrees and 80 individuals receiving Permanent Lecturer Decrees.
Vice-Rector for Human Resources and Finance Professor Supriyadi and Director of Human Resources Professor Suadi handed over the decrees directly at the UGM Senate Hall on Friday (Aug. 23).
Professor Supriyadi congratulated the lecturers who received the CPNS and Permanent Employee decrees and encouraged them to carry out their duties within the tri dharma of higher education.
He emphasized that every lecturer is required to work the equivalent of 12 credits (SKS) per semester, divided into education, research, and community service. The majority of their responsibilities fall within education.
“We will establish regulations to ensure that lecturers can work comfortably and efficiently,” he explained.
In his report, Professor Suadi stated that the issuance of CPNS decrees for functional lecturer positions at UGM was part of the ASN recruitment process that began in 2023.
UGM received the largest lecturer formation allocation for civil servant positions in Indonesia, with 399 lecturer positions, comprising 398 Ph.D. positions and one Master’s degree position.
“Out of the total number of accepted applicants, 170 were prospective lecturers. This means that only 43 percent of the available positions were filled,” he said.
Professor Suadi noted that only 102 candidates, or 47 percent, were accepted for UGM’s permanent lecturer positions out of the 218 needed.
“The educational qualifications included 21 candidates with a Ph.D., 37 ongoing Ph.D. candidates, and 4 with a Master’s degree or professional qualification. As of Aug. 23, 80 appointment decrees for permanent lecturers have been issued,” he explained.
