Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU).
The cooperation was regarding prevention, supervision, law enforcement, and the university’s tri-dharma in business competition and partnerships.
The MoU was signed by UGM Rector Professor Ova Emilia and KPPU Chairman Dr. M. Fanshurullah Asa at the Leadership Meeting Room, UGM Central Office (Nov. 26).
Dr. Asa expressed his appreciation for UGM’s collaboration in preventing, supervising, and enforcing regulations in business competition and partnerships.
He emphasized that the cooperation should not be limited to these areas but could expand to broader efforts in public outreach through activities like the Community Service Program (KKN-PPM).
“I hope this collaboration will not stop here,” said Dr. Asa.
He aims to collaborate further to raise awareness and provide education on business competition supervision through the KKN-PPM.
He also expressed KPPU’s readiness to support the program by creating young facilitators specializing in business digitalization.
“Going forward, we hope to hold a special meeting with UGM to develop a partnership index concept following KPPU’s recent creation of a business competition index,” he suggested.
Professor Emilia expressed her appreciation and gratitude for KPPU’s trust and for the plans for further collaboration. She hoped that future innovations would positively impact society.
“We are pleased to receive support from KPPU for the planned collaboration with the KKN program. I think it would be excellent if this initiative is complemented by education from KPPU,” she concluded.
On the same occasion, a cooperation agreement was also signed between KPPU and UGM’s Faculty of Engineering (FT UGM) to implement the university’s tri-dharma in preventing and enforcing laws in business competition and MSME partnerships.
The agreement was signed by Lukman Sungkar, who represented KPPU, and Professor Selo, the Dean of FT UGM.
