The committee for the 75th Anniversary and 15th Lustrum of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) held an audience with the Governor of Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, at Kepatihan, Yogyakarta, on Monday (Dec. 16).
During the one-hour meeting, several topics related to the cooperation programs between UGM and the Yogyakarta Provincial Government were discussed.
Dr. Arie Sujito, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni and Committee Head, presented the key events for UGM’s 75th Anniversary and 15th Lustrum.
Among the highlights are the 75th Anniversary and 15th Lustrum ceremony, which will take place during the UGM Senate’s Open Meeting on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, at Grha Sabha Pramana.
“We conveyed to Ngarso Dalem (the Sultan) the agenda for UGM’s anniversary this year,” he said.
He also mentioned the presentation of the Anugerah Hamengku Buwono IX during the UGM Senate’s Open Meeting at Grha Sabha Pramana on Thursday (Dec. 19). This year, Professor K.H. Haedar Nashir will receive the award.
In relaying the message from Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, Dr. Sujito explained that the Anugerah Hamengku Buwono IX is a meaningful initiative that should be preserved. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions benefiting the broader community.
“As the award recipient, Professor Haedar Nashir will deliver an academic oration, which will be held at the Keraton Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, at 7:00 PM WIB,” he added.
The audience delegation included Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu, UGM Secretary, and members of the selection committee for the 2024 Anugerah HB IX award, such as Professor M. Baiquni, Professor Wahyudi Kumorotomo, Professor Ambar Pertiwiningrum, Professor Bambang Purwono, Professor Tri Murti Andayani, Professor Tety Hartatik, Professor Triwibowo Yuwono, and Professor Avin Fadilla Helmi.
