The ceremony was held in the building on Thursday (Sep. 12) on the north side of the FTP UGM Campus. This marked the commencement of the construction of a facility aimed at supporting academic and research development in the agroindustry field at FTP UGM.
The project involves PT Tigamas Mitra Selaras, the contractor, and PT Pola Data Construction, the supervision and design team.
Professor Harmayani emphasized that laying the cornerstone signifies a significant step for FTP UGM in enhancing the capacity and quality of academic facilities and supporting UGM’s vision of continuing to be an excellent educational institution at both the national and international levels.
Professor Kuncoro Harto Widodo, Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, Human Resources, and Information Systems at FTP UGM, stated that this new building is part of the faculty’s efforts to establish itself as an international center of excellence in the agroindustry field.
“This building is being constructed according to the 2020-2027 strategic plan of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, which aligns with UGM’s general policies,” he explained.
The ATGSLC building is scheduled to be completed by September 2025, with a concept emphasizing sustainability and eco-friendliness.
The building will be designed to meet various safety, accessibility, health, and comfort standards while incorporating appropriate modern technologies.
Furthermore, its design considers aesthetic, safety, and connectivity aspects to create a smart and comfortable environment.
The six-story ATGSLC building will house various facilities to support academic and administrative activities for the postgraduate programs at FTP UGM.
The first floor will include maintenance, power, a water tank, and a mini parking area. The second floor will consist of meeting rooms and administrative offices. The third floor will feature faculty meeting rooms, co-working spaces, and advisory rooms.
The fourth floor will house laboratories, technician rooms, a prayer room, and locker areas. The fifth floor will serve as an innovation space and faculty transit area. Lastly, the sixth floor will be used for self-study, co-working spaces, and discussion areas.
The design of this building also considers its harmony with existing FTP buildings to meet the growing operational needs.
Additionally, the planning process was carried out meticulously to adhere to the principles of building reliability, including safety, accessibility, health, and comfort.
Dr. Ahmad Sarwadi, Director of Assets at UGM, said that the building’s planning process has met the required standards for building reliability, ensuring comfort and safety for all users in the future.
