Three study programs from the UGM’s Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP UGM) are undergoing assessments for ASIIN international accreditation (Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik). The programs are the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs in Agricultural Engineering.
The accreditation visit was conducted by ASIIN assessors, including Professor Dieter Trautz (Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences), Professor Chusnul Arif (IPB University), and Dr Habil. Oliver K. Schluter (Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy/ATB), Jasmine Tasmara (IPB University), and Dr. Emeline Jerez (ASIIN Project Manager).
The two-day visit took place on March 4-5, starting with an opening at the UGM Multimedia Room and continuing at FTP UGM.
Professor Trautz expressed his pleasure in being in Indonesia and at UGM.
He was eager to explore the three programs at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels for international accreditation.
“We hope this discussion will benefit all of us,” he said at the UGM Multimedia Room on Tuesday, Mar. 4, 2025.
UGM Vice-Rector for Education and Teaching, Professor Wening Udasmoro, emphasized that the ASIIN visitation process is a crucial part of experts’ commitment to advancing the quality of higher education.
The university is committed to promoting innovation, delivering high-quality education, and equipping students with exceptional knowledge and skills in a rapidly evolving global environment.
“We have worked hard to align our programs with international standards, meet industry demands, and support our students’ professional development. This visit is a valuable opportunity for us to showcase and reflect on our achievements in improving the quality and impact of our study programs,” Professor Udasmoro explained.
She entrusted the ASIIN assessors, who dedicated their expertise to this process.
UGM is eager to engage in constructive dialogue during the visit, hoping the assessors’ insights will guide the university in its continuous journey toward educational excellence.
“Once again, we thank the experts for their commitment to this important program. We look forward to receiving valuable input and engaging in productive discussions over the next two days,” she added.
Professor Indra Wijaya Kusuma, Head of UGM’s Quality Assurance and Reputation Unit, explained that the assessment involved direct visits to FTP UGM.
During the assessment, the ASIIN assessors conducted interviews with university leaders, faculty leaders, program directors, students, and alumni employers.
“They also reviewed various educational facilities and other supporting infrastructures. The gathered data will be processed, and the results will be shared in a few months,” Professor Kusuma explained.
