UGM Rector Professor Ova Emilia officially launched a new integrated service system titled “UGM University Services” during a soft launching event held at the UGM Innovation and Creativity Hub (GIK UGM) building on Wednesday, Jun. 26, 2025.
Developed by the Bureau of Digital Transformation (BTD), the system is designed as a one-stop, hybrid (online and offline) service center that integrates various student-related needs, ranging from academic services and student affairs to administrative matters and personal development.
This initiative was developed in response to the increasing complexity of demands from UGM’s more than 61,500 active students.
Rector Emilia stated that the new system is expected to serve as a comprehensive solution for the UGM academic community.
“This is our effort to integrate services that provide solutions not only for students, but also for alumni, parents, and the general public,” she explained.
Through this innovation, Rector Emilia emphasized that UGM is committed to enhancing responsive and inclusive services, while also reinforcing the university’s role as a pioneer in technology-based public service management.
Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni, Dr. Arie Sudjito, noted that the service system is also integrated with UGM’s internal service directorates, enabling students, alumni, parents, and the general public to access information more efficiently through a unified search feature.
“One of the offline service points for UGM University Services will be located at GIK UGM, which also functions as a direct consultation space for students,” he said.
As part of this system, UGM University Services introduces LISA (Lean Intelligent Service Assistant), an AI-powered digital assistant developed to provide fast and accurate responses to a wide range of public service inquiries.
LISA is capable of continuous learning and expanding its knowledge base through ongoing user interaction.
Furthermore, UGM University Services embraces the concept of an interactive virtual campus, where various services, including learning services, will be developed with digital and AI-based features.
The indexed service directory also enables users to access comprehensive information conveniently through a single portal.
