Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) remains committed to supporting students in continuing and completing their studies without hardship.
The Kagama Golf Club (KGC), an alum community of golf enthusiasts, extended its support by providing 40 laptops on loan to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds through the UGM Directorate of Student Affairs (Ditmawa).
The handover took place in Meeting Room 2, UGM Central Building, on Wednesday (Apr. 30), and was attended by ten student representatives.
UGM Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni, Dr. Arie Sujito, expressed appreciation for the support shown by the KGC alums.
He hoped the students would make the most of the assistance to accelerate their academic progress.
“We received 40 loaned laptops from KGC. In total, there are now 112 laptops available for students in need,” said Dr. Sujito.
He also emphasized that the laptop loan period would last six months. He encouraged students to make the most of the opportunity.

“Use this opportunity and the support from alumni to enhance your academic performance. I hope you enjoy your time studying at UGM,” he added.
Meanwhile, Hermawan Ardiyanto, a member of Kagama Golf Club and an alumnus of the UGM Civil Engineering Class of 1990, stated that KGC aims to carry out initiatives that bring positive value to its students.
Previously, we supported the Faculty of Medicine by providing an ambulance. This laptop assistance is another form of care from us alumni in KGC.
We hope it will support students in completing their studies and enable them to contribute to the nation,” said Ardiyanto.
Lintang Kirana Ratri, a student from the Nutrition Program at the UGM Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK), Class of 2021, expressed gratitude to KGC and Ditmawa UGM for the opportunity given to her and other students in need of laptops to work on their final projects.
She said the program provides significant support to students in completing academic assignments and theses.
“This assistance is invaluable, and I hope similar programs will continue and benefit even more students in the future,” said Ratri.
