Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) signed a cooperation agreement with PT Paragon Technology and Innovation (Paragon Corp) to develop a Co-Learning Center at the UGM Innovation and Creativity Hub (GIK UGM).
The signing ceremony, held at GIK UGM on Wednesday (Apr. 16), was attended by UGM leadership, Paragon Corp executives, and student representatives.
The development of the co-learning space aims to support a wide range of student activities, particularly in learning and collaboration.
Salman Subakat, Co-Founder of Paragon Corp, expressed his gratitude for the long-standing partnership.
“UGM has always welcomed, supported, and collaborated with Paragon Corp,” Subakat said in a statement to the press on Wednesday (May 7).
The signing event opened with a discussion session involving deans from five UGM faculties. The session served as a platform to share ideas on relevant and long-term collaborations between academia and industry.
Key topics included the sustainability of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, strengthening the connection between research and industry needs, mechanisms for cross-sector mentoring, and the development of practice-oriented courses.
The discussion produced strategic proposals for an ideal collaboration model.
Rector of UGM, Professor Ova Emilia, welcomed the synergy between UGM and Paragon Corp.
“This space is meant to build a future ecosystem that is collaborative rather than isolated. We hope this synergy will help shape an enlightened future generation,” the rector said.
This partnership lays the foundation for developing joint initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impacts for UGM students and the wider community, particularly in fostering the talents and interests of young people.
