3. GHA Decolonising Knowledge Panel – Reimagining Tools of Justice for Decolonized Futures: Visible-Invisible Voices and the World in Between
How can we challenge colonial legacies and reimagine justice from the perspectives of the Global South?
This panel explores how dominant legal frameworks—shaped by colonialism and Cold War politics—continue to marginalize alternative understandings of law, human rights, and justice. We ask:
🔹 How can we decolonize the production and teaching of legal knowledge?
🔹 What does justice look like when rooted in Southern epistemologies?
🔹 How do we move beyond Western legal paradigms toward anti-colonial futures?
Bringing together scholars and practitioners committed to rethinking legal traditions, this session offers a space to imagine new pedagogies, methodologies, and tools—turning structural violence and hidden injustices into opportunities for transformation.
Let’s shift the narrative and co-create a future where justice is inclusive, grounded, and decolonized.
