The Taekwondo division successfully completed its competitions at the Porsenigama 2025 on Sunday (Nov. 15). Unlike last year, this year’s Taekwondo event featured a more organized, compact, and efficient competition flow, allowing all matches to conclude within a single day. Despite the condensed schedule, the event remained energetic and demonstrated clear improvements in both execution and athlete performance.
Khansa, the Person in Charge (PIC) for Taekwondo under the Central Committee’s Sports Division, expressed her gratitude for the smooth execution of the event. She acknowledged that this year’s improvements were based on evaluations of the previous year’s competition.
“Last year, the matches were delayed because athletes had not been instructed to stay inside the sports hall. This year, the flow is more organized and structured, and the entire series of events from morning until afternoon followed a clear rhythm,” she said at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on Friday (Nov. 21).

Regarding the competition sequence, Khansa explained that the event opened with the Poomsae category in the morning, during which athletes demonstrated technical precision, consistent rhythm, and strength of movement. This was followed by the inter-faculty Kyorugi preliminary rounds, and the competition concluded in the afternoon with the finals and the awarding ceremony.
“With this format, I believe the competition atmosphere became livelier while maintaining the intensity of the matches,” she added.
Khansa expressed her satisfaction with the athletes’ significant improvement in performance. They demonstrated more mature technical skills as well as improved mental readiness.
In the Poomsae category, the athletes focused on movement precision, balance, and power. Meanwhile, in Kyorugi, they emphasized strategy, attack control, anticipation of opponents’ movements, and the effective execution of techniques to score points.

Khansa added that the judges determined the winners by evaluating not only the final scores but also the quality of technique, kicking accuracy, attack control, and strategic effectiveness.
“In Poomsae, aspects such as precision, strength, and the expression of technique become decisive factors,” she explained.
The final results of the Taekwondo competitions at Porsenigama 2025 are as follows: the Men’s Kyorugi title was won by Alif Syagerry Biantoro (Dentistry), the Women’s Kyorugi title by Devinda Octamaicya Hardono (Architecture), the Men’s Poomsae title by E. Muhammad Riyandi Kusuma (Industrial Engineering), and the Women’s Poomsae title by Yuki Shafa Maheswari (Information Engineering).
