Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has officially migrated its student admissions website from um.ugm.ac.id to https://admissions.ugm.ac.id as part of efforts to enhance the quality of information services and the student admissions system. The migration has been effective since Jan. 19, 2026, and is designed to provide prospective students with a more secure, integrated, and user-friendly access experience.
UGM Director of Education and Teaching, Professor Gandes Retno Rahayu, explained that the domain migration was undertaken for strategic reasons, particularly to enhance the security and reliability of the admissions information system.
In addition, the new website has been designed to simplify navigation and information searches for prospective students.
“With the new website, access and navigation for those seeking information on new student admissions will become much easier,” she said on Wednesday (Jan. 28).
Professor Rahayu further noted that through admissions.ugm.ac.id, all admissions-related information is now consolidated into a single integrated platform.
This integration covers information for both domestic and international prospective students, which was previously distributed across separate websites.
“Previously, information was provided on different websites, one for domestic admissions and another for international admissions. Now, everything has been integrated,” Professor Rahayu explained.

From a system development perspective, the Director of Information Technology, Professor Ridi Ferdiana, emphasized that the new website adopts the principles of one gateway, one data source, and one unified information reference.
This concept is intended to streamline information flows so they are more accurate, consistent, and easier for the public to understand.
“Our mission at UGM is to provide comfortable and well-curated access to information for the public,” Professor Ferdiana said.
He explained that the navigation structure of admissions.ugm.ac.id has been designed more systematically, featuring a main menu that includes information on registration procedures, requirements, schedules, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
An internal search feature and bookmarking tools are also provided to help users quickly and accurately find the information they need. He added that the website’s user interface has been updated with a design aligned with UGM’s visual identity.
“The menu layout has also been made more concise, responsive across various devices, and supportive of accessibility through font selection, color contrast, and alternative text for visual elements,” Professor Ferdiana added.

On the homepage, key information such as admissions pathways, announcements, and deadlines is displayed clearly, complemented by infographics and direct links to online application forms.
He expressed hope that this arrangement would help prospective students better understand each stage of the selection process from the outset.
During the transition period, visitors accessing the old website will be automatically redirected to the new address, ensuring uninterrupted access to information.
UGM also provides a helpdesk service for prospective students who require technical assistance or additional information.
“Through this migration, UGM reaffirms its commitment to delivering admissions services that are more secure, transparent, and easily accessible,” Professor Ferdiana concluded.
