Health Policy and Management Department of Faculty of Medicine UGM will hold a charity concert for cancer, titled Life, Passion and Music, on 5 May 2018 in the Auditorium of Sanata Dharma University Yogyakarta.
Head of the Department, Prof. Laksono Trisnanto, said the concert was organised to support cancer patients and all profits of the concert will go to a cancer foundation, Yayasan Kanker Indonesia (YKI) Yogyakarta.
“All sales of concert tickets will be donated to YKI and we aim at a figure of Rp225 million,” he said in a press conference at Hyatt Hotel Yogyakarta.
Laksono said in the concert, a professor from the Department, Prof. Adi Utarini, will perform with friends through five parts of concert from different genres, along with professional performers. She will be accompanied by Gadjah Mada Chamber Orchestra (GMCO), Paramaksi choir, Putri K. Larasati., Jodi Visnu, SKE Band, and Band Oldies Section Band.
Utarini, who is a talented medical lecturer, through the concert wants to show that academicians can also develop things beyond academics, which may actually support each other.
“Playing the music has always been my hobby which I did since I was 7 years old. The concert is also a form of appreciation to my music teacher, Ellen Santosa and Magda Hasan, who have much influenced my musical journey,” she said.
She further hoped the concert would contribute to the cancer treatment of patients in Yogyakarta, particularly.
“I have a family member who had cancer and currently there is another one fighting against the disease. That’ why I run this charity concert for cancer patients,” she explained.
Concert organisers offer 974 tickets that can be ordered online through adiutarini.id. Platinum ticket costs Rp400K, gold Rp250K, and silver Rp100K. The concert can also be accessed by live streaming at Rp150K for viewers in Indonesia and 10 USD for outside Indonesia.
