Cafeteria of Faculty of Animal Sciences UGM is certified as Halal by LPPOM MUI (The Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs and Cosmetics, Indonesian Council of Ulema) Yogyakarta. The certification marks its commitment to serving halal food with reasonable price to students as the future generation. The handover of certification was held on Monday (5/14) at the Cafeteria of Faculty of Animal Sciences UGM.
“We would not forget to thank Dharma Wanita (women’s association) of Faculty of Animal Sciences as the manager of the cafeteria and LPPOM MUI Yogyakarta for realizing this Halal Certification. This is a step to help the community in serving healthy and halal food. We hope that the Cafeteria of Faculty of Animal Sciences will keep improving,” said the Dean of Faculty of Animal Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ali Agus, DAA., DEA., IPU., at the certification handover ceremony.
The handover of certification was performed by Vice Director of Communication, Cooperation and Information of LPPOM MUI Yogyakarta, H.E. Zainal Abidin SH., MS., MPA.. to Dean of Faculty of Animal Sciences, “Congratulations to the Cafeteria of Faculty of Animal Sciences UGM. With this Halal Certification, I hope that the cafeteria will keep improving and maintain its quality and halal status,” said Zainal.
Head of Dharma Wanita of Faculty of Animal Sciences, Dr. Ir. Chusnul Hanim, M.Si., IPM., said that there are currently seven food stalls at the cafeteria with halal certification valid until 2020. “This is the only cafeteria at UGM that is certified as Halal. Hopefully, with this certification the cafeteria will always serve halal, healthy and hygienic food,” said Hanim.
