Universitas Gadjah Mada’s student has made an outstanding achievement. Pita Asih Bekti Cahyanti, Architecture student, has presented scientific writings to the International Conference on New Energy and Environment Engineering (ICNEE) 2018. The conference is an event that brings together researchers, practitioners, and scientist in energy and environmental engineering from 25-27 May 2018 in Singapore.
Pita presented her works entitled Development of Betawi Architecture for Green and Low-Energy Building of Tropical Sub-urban Business Centre in Greater Jakarta. It is a study on business centre designs in Greater Jakarta when she was doing work practice at PT Airmas Asri Jakarta. The character of culture and architecture of indigenous Jakarta that has been marginalised is conserved in situ into a futuristic architecture of urban Greater Jakarta. This work is planned to be published in International Journal of Structural and Civil Engineering Research (IJSCER) indexed by international scientific institutes.
Pita did not feel nervous even if the event was attended by international level scientists. Instead, she made this as the best learning forum to develop her potential as well as building networking. She believed that Indonesia’s research paper presentation in international seminar and publication can improve the reputation of the state towards a world class academia.
“Students and academia are demanded to always have new knowledge and innovations. This is my effort to help contribute to the development of Indonesia,” said Pita.
