The Dean of the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy graduated and took the Fresh Pharmacist oath. In the second period of the 2019/2020 Academic Year, the UGM Faculty of Pharmacy graduated and took 172 new pharmacists’ oaths.
This time, the Faculty of Pharmacy held online graduation with some representatives from the graduates. This online graduation was carried out considering that the Covid-19 pandemic situation has not allowed institutions to organize offline graduation.
“Even though this graduation was held during different conditions, we are still thankful because today we can attend the graduation ceremony and take the Fresh Pharmacist’s oath. Before pandemic happened, this kind of graduation momentum was usually full of excitement whether it was held at UC or Grha Sabha Pramana,” said Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Agung Endro Nugroho, M.Sc., Ph.D., Apt, at UC UGM on Thursday (5/11).
The Dean delivered that the Covid-19 pandemic that occurred in early 2020 had changed many things, including teaching and learning activities and offices. The Covid-19 pandemic surely drives many people to shift their previous habits to new adaptation (new normal).
Similar to a situation in a graduation ceremony and taking the oath of a New Pharmacist. This activity was carried out online and semi-offline to maintain the health and safety of ourselves and other people around.
“This condition is not ideal for us and may be very different from our expectations. But hopefully, this method does not depreciate the value, substance, and appreciation of the hard work that students have gone through on this beloved campus,” he said.
