The registration period for the State University National Entrance Exam (SNMPTN) is open today (15/2). Students who already have LTMPT accounts can register via the portal.ltmpt.ac.id page.
UGM will accept more than two thousand freshmen from the SNMPTN program this year. This number comprised both freshmen from bachelor’s and applied degrees who were able to join SNMPTN.
“We have 25 percent for the SNMPTN, from the UGM capacity total. The total number including applied bachelors is around two thousand for this year,” said UGM Deputy Chancellor for Education, Teaching and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Djagal Wiseso Marseno, M.Agr.
In SNMPTN this year, each participant can select one or two study programs with the requirements one study program is at a tertiary institution according to the school’s origin area.
UGM offers 90 bachelor’s and applied bachelor’s degree study programs in the 2021/2022 Academic Year, consisting of 18 Faculties and 1 Vocational School. Information about each study program’s capacity and High School (SMA)/Vocational (SMK) requirements are available on the page um.ugm.ac.id.
Prof. Budi Widyobroto, as the Chief Executive of the LTMPT Executive, in the SNMPTN and UTBK-SBMPTN socialization, revealed that each participant must carefully consider the elected study program.
Participants who have passed the SNMPTN selection are not allowed to take UTBK or any test requirement for the SBMPTN and independent selection in many universities.
“If ones have been truly accepted in SNMPTN, they are not allowed to register UTBK-SBMPTN. In other words, they won’t have a UTBK score. As a matter of fact, some universities require UTBK scores as one of the principles,” he explained.
The series of SNMPTN activities started on January 4 with the launch of the PMB 2021 system and the official opening by the Director-General of Higher Education, Prof. Ir. Nizam, Ph.D.
As the institution that facilitates the PT entrance test implementation for freshmen, LTMPT provided chances for schools to register for LTMPT accounts from January 4 to February 1. The school is also responsible for enlisting eligible students and filling out the School Student Database.
Meanwhile, SNMPTN freshmen are also required to register an LTMPT account for SNMPTN registration. The registration period will be open until February 24, while the result announcement will be on March 22, 2021.
