The Undergraduate Study Program of the Department of Communication, UGM Faculty of Social and Political Sciences reorganized the UGM Ajisaka Festival 2020+. In this year’s implementation, Ajisaka is currently stepping the eighth year of celebrating its title after successfully presenting hundreds of creative young people challenged with various problems in the world of communication in Indonesia.
The UGM Ajisaka Festival 2020+ is a communication festival in which all college students around Indonesia could enliven. The UGM Ajisaka Festival 2020+ series covered online creative markets, talk shows, webinars, competitions, and roadshows at 50 universities and 90 faculties throughout Indonesia. Meanwhile, the peak of the competition event will be on April 9 and 10, 2021, along with the breakdown of output dissemination activities, output titles, and Ajisaka’s closing party.
Raysa Syifa Natadimadja, Public Affairs of the Ajisaka UGM 2020+ Festival, said the Ajisaka UGM 2020+ festival aimed to motivate the nation’s youth in contributing their innovative ideas regarding disaster management in Indonesia seeing from the perspective of communication science. This year’s UGM Ajisaka Festival 2020+ raised Disaster Risk Reduction’s theme entitled “Biwara Bumandhala: Good News for the Earth” and the tagline Disaster Literacy.
“From this theme, hopefully, creative individuals can participate in educating the society about the importance of the communication role when there is an emergency, as well as being an agent of change to acknowledge awareness in the community,” said Raysa Syifa, at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM on Tuesday (16/2).
Raysa revealed that the UGM Ajisaka Festival 2020+ provided creative individuals a forum to be genuinely creative through five main competitions. First, the Image of a Million Colors (Arjuna), which focuses on journalism. There are three competition categories in Arjuna, including Comic Strip, Homeless Media, and Podcast. Second, Kreasi Insan Sinema (Kresna) focuses on the film’s field with four competition categories, including Short Fiction Films, Short Documentary Films, Scriptwriting, and Scoring Films.
Third, the Indonesian Public Relations Battle (Prahasta) focuses on public relations with three competition categories, namely PR Campaign, Risk Management, and Press Conference Simulation. Additionally, Youth Research (Nakula) focuses on the research field. There are two competition categories in Nakula, namely Conventional Research and Fun Research. The last one is the Dewa Pawira (Sadewa) Competition, which focuses on the advertising field with four competition categories: Brand Book, Skip Ad, Social Media Activation, and Unconventional Media. There will also be output displays from all participants in the form of a virtual 3D exhibition.
Registration for the UGM Ajisaka Festival 2020+ competition starts from February 16 to March 16, 2021, by visiting the www.festivalajisaka.com page. This competition is open to all students from diverse study fields throughout Indonesia.
“Since there are various challenging competitions, in accordance with the professional world of work, qualified judges, national networks and experiences in which the participants would obtain in participating the UGM Ajisaka Festival 2020+, it is certainly believed that they will be capable of becoming a medium for constructive learning and working for Indonesian creative people,” she explained.
