The UGM electric vehicle team Arjuna showcased their Formula SAE Electric Arjuna AF-03 car at the 2022 G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia.
Gusti Ngurah Bagus Suputra Wijaya from the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering said the team was grateful for the opportunity to introduce their work and research in the EV field to a wider audience.
“Competition-wise, we have won many from national to international. This very exhibition allows us to bring our work closer to the public, and ours is in line with one of the priorities of the Summit, the sustainable energy transition,” he said on Tuesday (11/15).
The team received a request to take part in the exhibition from the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, to promote environmentally friendly vehicles and demonstrate Indonesia’s participation in battery electric vehicle (BEV) research.
“Thus, we also explain in detail to visitors how we made our own Power Distribution Board (PDB) and Battery Management System (BMS). We also display our Formula SAE Electric Arjuna AF-03 car,” said Gusti.
He added that the Arjuna team fully supported the sustainable energy transition and Presidential Regulation Number 55 of 2019 on the Acceleration of the Battery Electric Vehicle Program for Road Transportation. The team hopes to play a role in developing all-electric vehicles in Indonesia and make the country and university proud.
Arjuna is the first Formula Student Electric Vehicle team from Indonesia to actively participate in national and global competitions with new research-driven innovations every year. The team is currently looking for ways to translate their five-seater electric car concept into reality.
