A total of 21 doctoral, master’s, and engineering students from the UGM Faculty of Animal Science (Animal Science UGM), along with ten students from Nong Lam University-Ho Chi Minh City (NLU-HCMC), participated in the 5th International Joint Graduate Seminar on Animal and Agricultural Sciences from Jul. 1-4, 2024.
The seminar, supported by Japfa Comfeed Vietnam, highlighted the commitment of both institutions to advancing agricultural sciences through international collaboration, promising a brighter future for research and innovation in the field.
Dean of Animal Science UGM, Professor Budi Guntoro, who accompanied the students, stated that this event further strengthened research collaboration and academic friendship between Indonesia and Vietnam.
“The seminar featured presentations on various topics related to sustainable farming practices and animal welfare,” said Professor Guntoro, accompanied by the 2024 Seminar Committee Chair, Dr. Endy Triyannanto, on Friday, Jul. 5, 2024.
The dean hoped this activity would strengthen research collaboration and friendship between academics in Indonesia and Vietnam.
With a theme focused on livestock farming and its environmental impact, UGM and Nong Lam University (NLU) participants actively engaged in discussions and knowledge sharing.
“This seminar featured presentations covering various topics related to sustainable livestock practices and animal welfare,” reiterated Professor Guntoro.
Several Animal Science UGM lecturers accompanying the students included Dr. R Ahmad Romadhoni Surya Putra, Dr. Andriyani Astuti, Professor Ambar Pertiwiningrum, Professor Nafiatul Umami, Professor Kustantinah, Professor Sigit Bintara, Dr. Endy Triyannanto, Dr. Muhlisin, and Dr. Suci Paramitasari Syahlani.
