The research team at the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Animal Science UGM), has produced a range of innovative research outcomes and flagship products in the dairy industry. Among the key products developed are “SENSASI” Lactating Dairy Cow Concentrate, RUPellet (Rumen Undegradable Protein Pellet), RUPSel (Protected Protein and Selenium Pellet), and RUPLES (Protected Protein-Fat and Selenium Pellet). These patented products are believed to enhance milk production and improve the immunity of dairy livestock.
Professor Yustina Yuni Suranindyah, Head of the Laboratory of Dairy Animal Science and Dairy Industry (ITPIP), explained that the laboratory’s innovations play a crucial role in advancing livestock science and the national dairy industry, particularly in enhancing milk productivity and quality.
She emphasized the laboratory’s ongoing commitment to serving as a leading research center.
“We not only produce feed and dairy product innovations but also support the national dairy industry through applied research and accredited testing services,” said Professor Suranindyah at Animal Science UGM on Friday (Oct. 31).

In addition, the laboratory is conducting research on the potential of forage crops as natural galactagogues, focusing on bioactive compounds that can stimulate and sustain milk production naturally.
Beyond research, the ITPIP Laboratory also manages accredited testing services (KAN ISO 17025) for analyzing the quality of milk and its derivatives, including proximate analysis, mineral content, lactose, and other quality parameters.
“We aim to become a driving force for innovation in animal nutrition, feed, and the dairy industry, in line with UGM’s commitment to supporting national food sovereignty,” Professor Suranindyah concluded.
