
The Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Animal Science UGM) welcomed a delegation from Saison Personal Plus Co. Ltd. and Maruko Foods Co. Ltd. The visit, aimed at exploring potential collaborations, particularly in product development, took place on Wednesday (Sep. 10).
Saison Personal Plus is a company that provides Specified Skilled Workers (SSW) to Japanese companies, while Maruko Food is a Japanese food processing company whose main commodity is yama imo or Japanese yams.
During their visit to the Animal Science UGM, the delegation was received by Professor Budi Guntoro, Dean of Animal Science UGM, along with other members of the leadership board.
Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, Professor Yuny Erwanto, explained that both companies aimed to strengthen cooperation in the development of agricultural and livestock products.
“This visit further reinforces and creates opportunities for collaboration in developing processed agricultural and livestock products,” said Professor Erwanto.
Yasunobe, head of the delegation from Saison Personal Plus, expressed his objectives for the visit, which included observing food processing technology firsthand.
“We want to learn about the technology as well as the process of processing food products derived from livestock,” he stated.
Following the discussion, the delegation conducted a direct tour of several facilities at the Animal Science UGM.
Among the sites visited were the Central Laboratory for Tropical Animal Research at the ASLC Building (5th floor), the Center for Animal Development, and the Meat Science and Technology Laboratory.
