PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI), through the BSI Scholarship Program, is committed to providing scholarships to prospective students from economically disadvantaged families at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). This scholarship initiative is expected to expand access to education and provide financial support, while also fostering leadership development and Islamic financial literacy among scholarship recipients. The commitment was highlighted during the BSI Scholarship 2026 Roadshow at UGM.
Deputy Financing of BSI Region Semarang, Hari Nopa Kurniawan, reaffirmed BSI’s commitment to expanding social benefits through the management of zakat funds. According to him, the collaborative commitment between UGM and BSI is expected to support improvements in the quality of human resources.
“BSI continues to strive to broaden access to education for the younger generation through the optimization of zakat and infaq fund distribution. We certainly want to ensure that more students have the opportunity to pursue higher education through this program,” he explained on Monday (May. 4).

He noted that the BSI Scholarship Program is a strategic initiative managed through zakat and infaq funds collected by BSI, in collaboration with BSI Maslahat as a National Amil Zakat Institution. To date, the program has reached more than 3,000 school students and 7,000 university students.
