A total of 3,664 prospective graduates of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) attended a pre-graduation ceremony briefing on Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, on the second floor of Grha Sabha Pramana. This event was held one day prior to the first-ever three-day consecutive graduation ceremony for UGM undergraduates.
The speakers at the preparatory session were UGM alumni, including Lina Agustina, President Director of PT Mobilitas Digital Indonesia, and Dwi Astuti Irenaningtyas, Corporate Human Resources and General Affairs (HRGA) Director of Plaza Capital Group.
The session was moderated by Dr. Made Andi Arsana, a lecturer from UGM’s Geodesy Engineering department.
Addressing thousands of soon-to-be graduates, Agustina encouraged facing workplace challenges with positive thinking, optimism, and balanced decision-making.
“Prepare yourselves so that when a position opens, you are ready to fill it. Strive to do things differently from others, and various opportunities will open up,” the alumna advised.
Meanwhile, Irenaningtyas emphasized that creativity and responsibility are essential for every individual.
She noted that while the future is unpredictable, it can be prepared for through clarity of purpose and readiness.
“We must prepare ourselves. In addition to preparing a CV (curriculum vitae), it is essential to be able to take responsibility for your CV and the job role you apply for. It’s important to explore and study company profiles. Show your quality, enthusiasm, and interest,” she urged.
In the workplace, she added, adaptability is key; it’s about how we manage and earn our supervisors’ trust, and how well we interpret their requests.
“Problem-solving skills and creativity are also fundamental assets, along with respect and collaboration, as these are interrelated,” she concluded.
