Edus.id, an educational technology startup nurtured by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and focused on children’s education, continues to demonstrate its commitment to providing safe, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences.
One of its current main focuses is to promote early childhood sexual education in a positive and preventive manner, in response to the challenges of growing up in a socially and digitally dynamic world.
Vicky Rian Saputra, a UGM student and Founder and CEO of Edus.id, expressed his hope that the initiative they pioneered can be widely disseminated to communities across the country.
As a concrete step, Edus.id has partnered with 10 UGM Community Service Program (KKN-PPM) teams in various villages across Indonesia.
“This collaboration aims to introduce inclusive sexual education for children through interactive and easy-to-understand media for both children and parents,” he said on Monday, Jul. 21, 2025.
CEO Saputra explained that through this program, Edus.id introduced an educational product called BEEJOY, an interactive board game specifically designed to introduce children to concepts such as the human body, personal boundaries, empathy, and how to safely say “no.”
This product was developed in collaboration with experts in child psychology and family education.
In his view, sexual education should begin at an early age using a fun approach so as not to create fear or stigma.
“Edus.id serves as a bridge to help parents and children engage in healthy and open dialogue,” he explained.
He further described the establishment of Edus.id as a strategic response to the challenges of the digital era, where the overwhelming flow of information is not always child-friendly.
For that reason, value-based and empathy-driven sexual education is key to equipping the younger generation with the awareness to protect themselves and understand their bodily rights.
The collaboration between Edus.id and KKN-PPM teams is expected to expand, enabling the movement for children’s sexual education to reach more families and communities.
Edus.id is also expected to continue growing, broadening its impact across Indonesia.
“This collaboration with several KKN-PPM teams is a form of strategic synergy. We hope this program can continue in future KKN periods, involving even more teams so that this important campaign on children’s sexual education can spread throughout the country,” he added.
He also mentioned that Edus.id welcomes various forms of partnerships and collaborations, with educational institutions, communities, civil society organizations, and government bodies that share the same vision of supporting children’s development through proper education.

As noted, the ten KKN-PPM UGM teams involved in this educational program are located in several regions, including Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan; Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi; Bandungan, Semarang Regency; Pacitan, East Java; Banyuwangi, East Java; Wonosobo, Central Java; West Bandung, West Java; and Samosir Regency, North Sumatra.
