
The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) distributed 586 lunch boxes to new undergraduate students of the 2025 intake.
The symbolic handover was carried out by the Dean of FEB UGM, Professor Didi Achjari, and received by two new students during the Orientation and Initiation of Faculty of Economics and Business Students (SIMFONI) event at the FEB UGM Plaza on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025.
Vice-Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FEB UGM, Dr. Bayu Sutikno, said that the distribution of lunch boxes is one of FEB UGM’s steps to support environmentally friendly initiatives in creating a sustainable campus.
“The distribution of lunch boxes to new students is part of our efforts to nurture future leaders in economics and business who also champion sustainability,” he said.
Vice-Dean Sutikno added that this initiative is part of FEB UGM’s commitment to creating an inclusive and environmentally friendly campus environment.
With this effort, new students are expected to become agents of change in fostering healthy behaviors within the campus.
“As the newest members of the faculty, we hope they will serve as agents of change by promoting healthy practices on campus,” he explained.
Rangga Febriansyah Saragih, one of the recipients from the Management Study Program, expressed his delight with the lunch box distribution for new students.
He said the initiative taken by FEB UGM is a positive step toward achieving environmental sustainability.
“I’m really happy to receive a lunch box from FEB. This is a great step to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions,” he said.
Similarly, Alya Aziza, a new student from the Accounting Study Program, expressed her admiration for FEB UGM’s strong commitment to encouraging students to become environmentally conscious learners.
“I truly admire FEB UGM’s efforts to support plastic waste reduction on campus. As a student, I will certainly support this initiative,” she stated.
