The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) once again hosted the Open Campus 2024, which took place from Oct. 17 to 19, 2024, at the UGM Jakarta Campus, Jalan Saharjo 83, Tebet, South Jakarta.
This educational exhibition aimed to provide prospective students and the general public with the opportunity to learn more about the study programs offered by FEB UGM, ranging from undergraduate to master’s and doctoral levels.
Through the Open Campus event, participants could obtain comprehensive information about study programs, academic systems, and career prospects for each educational level.
The event also featured sharing sessions and a mini expo to give a clearer picture of the academic life at FEB UGM.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Bayu Sutikno, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs at FEB UGM, introduced the study programs offered at FEB UGM, from undergraduate to postgraduate levels.
“If you want to study at FEB UGM, we have 14 study programs from Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels, as well as professional programs,” he explained on Thursday (Oct. 18).
Three of the 14 study programs are undergraduate: the Accounting Program, the Management Program, and the Economics Program.
The Master’s programs include the Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Economics, Master of Science in Management, Master of Accounting, Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Development Economics.
At the doctoral level, FEB UGM offers a Doctorate in Accounting, a Doctorate in Economics, and a Doctorate in Management. Additionally, FEB UGM has a professional program, the Professional Accounting Program (PPAk).
On this occasion, Dr. Sutikno also explained UGM’s admission pathways, including those for FEB, and the selectivity of admissions to FEB UGM, especially at the undergraduate level.
He mentioned that FEB UGM admits around 500 students through the regular pathway and 150 students through the international pathway (IUP) every year.
The FEB UGM Open Campus 2024 received positive feedback from the public. A total of 374 high school students from Jakarta and its surrounding areas attended the event.
One of the FEB UGM Open Campus 2024 participants, Naufal J.P., from SMAN 20 Jakarta, expressed his excitement about the event. Through this event, he and his friends gathered a lot of information about FEB UGM, including admission pathways, study programs, scholarships, and global partners.
“This is my first time attending an open campus event. UGM is one of the universities I aspire to, and FEB UGM is my dream faculty. This event was quite informative, and I gained a lot of information here,” he said.
Meanwhile, Akbar Syahreza Putra, a teacher at IT Ummul Quro High School in Bogor, also appreciated the organization of the FEB UGM Open Campus event.
He mentioned that it provided various important information needed by high school students who are prospective university students.
“There was a lot of information presented during this event. We also hope that in the future, more students from IT Ummul Quro will be accepted to study at FEB UGM,” he said.
