The Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Mobile Legends eSports team, known as UGM DIGDAYA, brought pride to their alma mater and Indonesia by securing the runner-up position at the prestigious Campus Legends competition held in Singapore on Sunday (Nov. 2).
Campus Legends is an annual tournament organized by the Singapore Cybersports & Online Gaming Association (SCOGA) and Esports Academy since 2019. The event is designed not merely as an eSports competition but also as a gateway for university students to explore career opportunities and personal growth in the eSports and youth culture industries.
One of its missions is to inspire participating students to initiate a positive cycle of engagement, education, and empowerment for preparing them to compete in the future economy.
Team captain, Bausa Seta Pandega, explained that the team’s journey to the international stage began with a rigorous internal selection process at UGM. From this process, UGM DIGDAYA was chosen as the official representative to compete on behalf of both UGM and Indonesia in this Southeast Asian interuniversity eSports tournament.

During the tournament, Pandega noted, the UGM team delivered an outstanding performance. They advanced smoothly through the qualifying rounds, defeating strong teams from various countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, and Cambodia.
The culmination of their efforts came in the Grand Final, where they faced a formidable opponent from the Philippines.
“The match was intense and highly strategic,” said Pandega in a statement on Monday (Nov. 3).
In the final round, both teams traded victories, forcing a decisive third game.
“Unfortunately, we were not as lucky this time and had to concede to the opponent with a narrow 2-1 score,” he recalled.
Despite not claiming the championship title, Pandega emphasized that the achievement remains a significant source of pride. Finishing as runner-up in an international tournament demonstrates that UGM students possess world-class talent, not only academically but also in the realm of eSports.
“We are proud to represent UGM and Indonesia in the finals. It was not an easy journey, and we are deeply grateful for all the support, especially from the university through the Directorate of Student Affairs. This motivates us to train harder and achieve even better results in the future,” he added.
The success of UGM DIGDAYA as runner-up in the Campus Legends Singapore adds to the growing list of international achievements by UGM students and reinforces UGM’s reputation as one of Indonesia’s leading universities in fostering exceptional eSports talent.
