Rr. Hadijah Putri Jasmine, a Management student from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), has achieved an outstanding accomplishment. Together with Faluna Aga Janitra (School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung) and Felicia Christalyn (Prasetiya Mulya University), she formed the team The Managers, which won first place in the 2025 BCA Business Case Competition (BBCC) held from Aug. 27 to 30, 2025, at Menara BCA, Jakarta.
The Managers successfully claimed the top prize after outperforming dozens of teams from various universities across Indonesia.
This prestigious competition, organized by Bank Central Asia (BCA), drew over 700 participants from leading public and private universities across the nation.
Participants also came from other institutions such as the Universitas Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Prasetiya Mulya University, and Binus University.
Jasmine explained that in the competition, her team worked on a case focused on how BCA could continue to grow and adapt in the digital era.
As one of Indonesia’s most trusted banks with a large customer base, BCA faces new challenges amid the rapid rise of financial technology (fintech).
Changing consumer behavior and increasing expectations from digitally savvy younger generations, who are easily bored and highly sensitive to user experience, have also posed significant challenges.
“Participants were asked to design innovative and sustainable strategies that not only meet customers’ daily transaction needs but also create new added value,” said Jasmine at FEB UGM, Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025.
The creation of this new added value, according to Jasmine, focused on how BCA could develop more relevant products and services, maintain customer loyalty, and balance digital innovation with its reputation as a trusted conventional bank.
After the initial stage, where participants submitted ideas in video format, 30 finalist teams were challenged to transform their solutions into comprehensive presentations within just two days and one night.
“These presentations were then directly assessed by professionals from the banking industry. Although I initially felt intimidated by the high caliber of competitors from Indonesia’s top universities, I’m grateful that we were able to deliver our best performance, which ultimately led The Managers to win first place,” she said.
