Thorough planning is key to achieving success. This is precisely what Yunita Nur Aziza, a 2021 cohort graduate of the Agricultural Engineering and Biosystems Program, UGM Faculty of Agricultural Technology (FTP UGM), did.
She achieved a proud accomplishment as the fastest graduate in the undergraduate and applied undergraduate graduation ceremony on Wednesday (May 27) at Grha Sabha Pramana.
Aziza successfully graduated in 3 years, 2 months, and 6 days. Meanwhile, the average study period for 1,291 undergraduate graduates in this period was 4 years.
The Yogyakarta-born girl’s success in completing her undergraduate studies faster was inseparable from the planning she had arranged since her third semester.
“Since the third semester, I had already arranged a plan to graduate faster,” said the youngest of three siblings on Tuesday (Jun. 3).
To aid her study planning, Aziza admitted to frequently discussing her study plan with her academic advisor.
“From course selection to scheduling final exams and thesis defense, I always consulted,” she recalled.
Besides focusing on academics, Aziza also actively participated in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program, which became another supporting factor.
In the Agricultural Engineering and Biosystems study program, MBKM could substitute elective courses, thereby accelerating study completion.
“I had specific targets and always made a daily schedule to remain focused and consistent,” Aziza explained.
Not only did she graduate faster, but Aziza also successfully graduated with cum laude honors, earning a GPA of 3.62.
According to Aziza, this academic achievement was made possible by her consistency, effective time management, and commitment to her goals, which ultimately led to her maximum results.
“Never give up. Always be optimistic. Start planning your college journey as early as possible,” she advised.
Aziza’s achievement serves as an inspiration for other students that parents’ educational background is not a limitation.
With a determination to make her parents, who are only high school graduates, proud, she proved that hard work and strong will can change the future.
