A total of 295 or 50.36 percent of new regular undergraduate students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), have received a Single Tuition Fee (UKT) subsidy. Of this number, 11.69 percent were granted the Excellent Education 100% Subsidized UKT (UKT 0), meaning they are fully exempt from tuition fees throughout their studies.
This was conveyed by the Dean of FEB UGM, Professor Didi Achjari, during the opening of the 2025 PIONIR SIMFONI at the FEB UGM Plaza on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025.
He stated that FEB UGM remains committed to upholding inclusivity by providing access for students from diverse backgrounds, including those with varying economic capacities.
“More than half of our new students this year, precisely 50.36%, are receiving UKT subsidies, and 11.69% of them have been granted a 100% UKT subsidy, meaning free tuition,” said Dean Achjari.
According to him, the provision of UKT subsidies reflects FEB UGM’s tangible commitment to delivering equitable, affordable education that identifies and nurtures outstanding potential from various social, economic, and geographical backgrounds.
He noted that in 2025, FEB UGM admitted 586 new undergraduate students, consisting of 419 from the regular track and 167 from the International Undergraduate Program (IUP), hailing from 32 provinces across Indonesia.
“This year, FEB UGM welcomed 586 new undergraduate students from all over Indonesia, from Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam in the far west to North Maluku in the east; from North Sulawesi in the north to East Nusa Tenggara in the south. This campus is a miniature Indonesia, diverse, inclusive, and tolerant,” he explained.
Speaking about the theme of PIONIR SIMFONI this year, Dean Achjari expressed his hope that it would strengthen the integrity of the nation’s young pioneers in making a meaningful impact on society.
In his message, he encouraged the Gadjah Mada Muda (Gamada) not only to be active in academic pursuits.
“We all hope that Gamada will also participate in extracurricular activities, whether in organizations, sports, or the arts on campus,” he said.
