The academic community of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is mourning the loss of one of its most distinguished professors, Professor Sasongko Pramonohadi, who passed away on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time at Panti Rapih Hospital, Yogyakarta (Feb. 7). His remains were laid to rest at the UGM Family Cemetery in Sawitsari on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (Feb. 8), Following a period of repose at the Balairung of UGM’s Central Office.
Professor Sasongko Pramonohadi served as a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (DTETI) at the Faculty of Engineering (FT UGM). As a lecturer, he possessed extensive expertise in energy conversion, transmission, distribution, and electric power systems.
Secretary of the UGM Board of Professors, Professor Wahyudi Kumorotomo, expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family. He described Professor Sasongko Pramonohadi as a devoted educator, a role model, and a colleague who was deeply respected and admired.
“May the late professor be granted the best place by Allah SWT and may all his good deeds be accepted. May the family he leaves behind be given patience, strength, and sincerity,” he said on Sunday (Feb. 8) while leading the tribute and farewell ceremony at the UGM Balairung.

Professor Kumorotomo noted that Professor Sasongko Pramonohadi delivered his inaugural professorial address at the University’s Open Senate Meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015.
In his view, the late professor was an academic and researcher in Electrical Engineering, particularly in Energy Systems and Power Generation, at FT UGM.
On this final occasion of remembrance, he also requested permission, on behalf of Universitas Gadjah Mada, to express gratitude for the late professor’s role and contributions as an educator and an exemplary figure within the UGM academic community.
“May all the knowledge, dedication, and scholarly contributions of the late professor, God willing, become lasting acts of devotion for the advancement of science in the future. In closing, may Allah SWT grant forgiveness and a noble place in eternal peace to Professor Sasongko Pramonohadi. May Allah SWT continue to guide and protect us all as we advance knowledge and carry forward his works and innovations in the years to come,” he concluded.
