Participating in the 2024 Forestry Run might be the perfect opportunity for running enthusiasts.
This Fun Run will take place on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, as part of the 61st anniversary celebration of the UGM Faculty of Forestry.
It serves as a gathering place for runners from the UGM community and the general public. The route follows the eastern part of UGM, allowing participants to enjoy the UGM campus while running.
Professor Widiyatno, the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation at the UGM Faculty of Forestry, explained that the 2024 Forestry Run is open to everyone—children, teenagers, adults, seniors, and even participants with disabilities.
Participants are encouraged to join, whether they run or walk along the route.
“We are targeting 1,500 participants for the Forestry Run, though additional spots may be made available until registration closes,” said Professor Widiyatno on Wednesday (Sep. 25).
The 2024 Forestry Run offers two running distances: 5K and 10K. All participants who reach the finish line will receive medals, and there will be no cut-off time.
For the 10K distance, podium finishes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners, who will win cash prizes worth millions of rupiah.
But no worries—all runners will receive race packs filled with merchandise from the organizers and free health checks.
On the day of the event, participants can enjoy various performances along the running route and at the Faculty of Forestry. There will also be booths from local businesses, exciting door prizes, and a Best Costume Award for those wanting to run in style.
