The grand night of the 79th Anniversary of Universitas Gadjah Mada’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH UGM) concluded with a vibrant performance by the Yogyakarta-based band Letto, which enlivened the “Gamavet Bersua” alumni gathering on Saturday (Sep. 19) at the FKH UGM courtyard. Song after song from the band successfully lifted the spirits of the alumni participants from across generations.
Noe, the vocalist, opened the show with Sandaran Hati, followed by Lubang di Hati, Permintaan Hati, Sebelum Cahaya, and Ruang Rindu.
His stage presence brought the atmosphere to life, drawing the audience into the music until the close of the evening.
This performance by Letto was part of the Gamavet cross-generational reunion, which also included the silver reunion of Gamavet 2000, the golden reunion of Gamavet 1975, and the reunion of FKHP 1964 – 1965.
Held at the FKH UGM round plaza, the evening featured a variety of performances by different alumni cohorts.
The alumni not only attended as participants but also contributed actively by showcasing the creativity and solidarity of their respective classes. Gamavet 1975 presented a cowboy-themed performance, lightening the mood with the song Gembala Sapi and presenting a memento to the faculty.
Other performances were also presented, such as Gamavet 1985, which entertained the audience with a specially written song titled “85 Istimewa” along with several different pieces, inviting the audience to sing together near the stage.
Alumni from Gamavet 1991 presented the traditional Singrak dance, while the Gamavet Dance Team delivered an energetic performance. Meanwhile, Gamavet 2000 presented a Tai Chi performance.
The evening also featured several Kagama alumni bands, which added to the warm atmosphere.
Gamavet 2006 brought a sense of nostalgia through their band’s arrangements of classic songs, while Magma Band from FKH classes of 2022 and 2023 entertained the crowd with contemporary tunes.
Dean of FKH UGM, Professor Teguh Budipitojo, stated that this anniversary celebration held special significance in commemorating the establishment of the faculty 79 years ago, which began as a higher education institution before evolving into the current FKH UGM.
“Tonight is also a moment of reflection on the struggles of the faculty’s founders. We sincerely hope that alumni will continue to make meaningful contributions to the nation,” said Professor Budipitojo.
Hastho Yulianto, Chair of the Gamavet Alumni Gathering Committee, emphasized that FKH UGM graduates are expected to maintain the faculty’s strong reputation, particularly in veterinary medicine, with alumni now widely spread across Indonesia.
“The Gamavet Bersua night is not only about celebrating age but also about celebrating togetherness,” he concluded.
