The Professional Certification Institute (Lembaga Sertifikasi Profesi/LSP) of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) awarded a total of 134 assessor certificates to lecturers. The certificate presentation ceremony took place at the Ballroom of the Teaching Industry Learning Center (TILC) at UGM Vocational College (SV UGM) on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025.
Chair of LSP UGM, Dr. Setyawan Bekti Wibowo, explained that the awarding of the assessor certificates was a follow-up to the assessor training programs held in two batches, from Jul. 30 to Aug. 3 and from Aug. 6 to 10.
Through these training sessions, lecturers and practitioners were equipped with competencies to conduct professional assessments in accordance with the standards set by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).
“This year, LSP UGM has also proposed 65 new certification schemes to accommodate the competency needs of UGM students. We hope that with the growing number of schemes developed by LSP UGM, more study programs will be able to ensure their students’ readiness for the workforce,” said Dr. Wibowo in a press release on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2025.
With the addition of 134 newly certified assessors and 33 existing assessors who have been verified as meeting the BNSP competency standards, UGM now has a total of 167 certified assessors.
The certificates were symbolically presented to Dr. Sigit Heru Murti Budi Santosa from the Faculty of Geography by UGM Vice-Rector for Education and Teaching, Professor Wening Udasmoro.
The event served as a form of recognition and appreciation for the dedication of UGM’s educators and practitioners in maintaining the quality of assessment and learning processes across the university.
In her address, Vice-Rector Udasmoro emphasized the vital role of assessors in maintaining the quality of education and supporting the certification process for competencies recognized both nationally and internationally.
“The quality of education is not solely determined by the curriculum but also by the assessors who ensure that graduates possess the skills required by the job market,” she stated.
