Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again demonstrated its commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry through the organization of SAP Career Day 2025, held at the Student Center, GIK UGM, on Thursday, Jun. 5.
This job fair is part of UGM’s broader strategy to build a campus ecosystem that enhances students’ readiness for digital transformation in the workforce.
The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Professor Pratikno; the Rector of UGM, Professor Ova Emilia; and the President Director of GIK UGM, Dr. Alfatika Aunuriella Dini, officially opened the event.
In his video address, Minister Pratikno emphasized that universities must serve as transformative spaces for young professionals. He encouraged graduates not only to seek employment but also to create their own opportunities.
“Don’t be content with just being job seekers, be job creators. Don’t settle for being followers, be innovators who craft solutions to ever-evolving global challenges,” he said.
According to Minister Pratikno, the disruption brought about by technological advances, particularly artificial intelligence and digitalization, not only threatens traditional jobs but also creates new opportunities in the digital economy.
“Today, we are witnessing a world of new paradigms in higher education in Indonesia. GIK UGM invites every student and industry partner to take part in this transformation,” he added.
He further emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities and industry in building an ecosystem that produces not only high-quality talent but also innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
UGM Rector, Professor Ova Emilia, highlighted the significance of campus-industry synergy in preparing graduates who are not only academically competent but also adaptable to technological change and ready to contribute on a global scale.
“This event is more than a recruitment platform; it is a space for learning and collaboration, connecting students with industry leaders from global companies,” she explained.
SAP Career Day 2025 also served as a strategic moment to strengthen the partnership between UGM and SAP Indonesia. Through the signing of a memorandum of understanding, both parties agreed to provide access to digital training, international certifications, and SAP Learning Hub programs, which will be integrated into the academic curriculum. This initiative is part of UGM’s effort to produce top-tier digital talent with strong global competitiveness.
President Director of GIK UGM, Dr. Alfatika Aunuriella Dini, stated that as a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and multidisciplinary collaboration, GIK UGM continues to play a strategic role in linking campus and industry.
“Through Career Day, we aim to broaden students’ access to professional networks and early exposure to the workforce,” she said.
The SAP Career Day 2025 featured a range of activities beyond the job exhibition, including panel discussions with C-level executives from SAP Indonesia, KPMG, EY, PwC, Accenture, and other partner companies. It also included networking sessions and interactive booths offering direct access to career opportunities within the SAP ecosystem.
