Dr. Adi Djoko Guritno, the CEO of PT Pagilaran, was officially inducted as a full professor in agricultural industrial technology at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, UGM.
His induction occurred at the UGM Senate Hall on Thursday (Feb. 22), where he delivered a speech titled “Supply Chain Risk Management for Vulnerability-based Early Prevention System: Minimizing Target Achievement Deviation Efforts and Future Challenges.”
During his speech, he delved into the advancements in risk management science applied to supply chain management, particularly from a preventive standpoint. This approach, he emphasized, aims to mitigate and avert errors or failures in achieving predetermined objectives.
“The implementation of management practices alongside the development of an early warning system is envisioned to enhance awareness and vigilance regarding potential risky or adverse occurrences,” he remarked.
Professor Guritno underscored that his speech sought to shed light on vulnerability management, an ever-present aspect in every interconnected individual within a chain, ensuring that targets or objectives remain stable or deviate within manageable bounds.
He likened vulnerability to a state of incapacity within an activity, perpetually posing opportunities for deviations that could impact outcomes.
In addressing critical aspects of evolving supply chain risk management, he advocated for cultivating more equitable and equitable relationships among stakeholders tied to the risks they assume, fostering rational and mutually agreeable associations.
Risks, he noted, are inevitable events along the supply chain; their timing and occurrence, however, remain unpredictable.
“Our endeavors entail the development of leading indicators and risk mitigation strategies, necessitating the refinement of more precise, timely, and efficient implementation methodologies,” he elucidated.
Furthermore, he highlighted the boundless and uncertain nature of internal and external risks to organizations.
Consequently, he stressed the importance of nurturing resilience within organizations, combining inherent human capacities with reliable, up-to-date technological support, and steadfast adherence to pertinent regulations.
