On Saturday (Mar. 2), professors from 21 state universities with legal entities (PTN-BH) came together to issue a declaration of grounded leadership.
This declaration is part of The ALTITUDE program (Academic Leadership Training on Innovative Transformation for University Development and Empowerment), orchestrated by the Council of Professors of State Universities with Legal Entities (MDGB PTN-BH) from Feb. 29 to Mar. 2, 2024. This year, UGM has been bestowed the honor of hosting the program.
Professor Andi Pangerang Moenta, Chair of the MDGB PTN-BH, accompanied by the Chair of the UGM Council of Professors, Professor Mochammad Maksum, underscored that this program is geared towards enhancing the capacity of professors in knowledge-based leadership and experience for the advancement and glory of the nation.
The declaration encapsulates that the council is committed to:
- The issues of the national leadership relay, regional geopolitical crisis upheavals, and global ecological disasters;
- Cultivating professors as true national educators to fortify the character and identity of the nation;
- Fostering leadership with a broad scientific perspective and strategic thinking to tackle national issues and provide societal solutions as global citizens;
- Nurturing university human resources through leadership training that balances religious and scientific expertise while upholding moral integrity, ethical norms, and academic culture;
- Maximizing the role of PTN-BH professors in fulfilling the tri-dharma of higher education (education, research, and community service) for national prosperity and human welfare;
- Crafting visionary national leaders with strong moral and ethical foundations and transformative innovation towards the Golden Indonesia 2045 and
- Enlightening the nation and contributing global solutions as responsible global citizens.
