Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has established a strategic partnership with PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (PT SMI) to provide IDR 150 billion in financing support for the development of UGM Academic Hospital (RSA UGM). The agreement was officially signed on Wednesday (Oct. 29) at the Main Conference Room of UGM’s Central Office.
UGM Rector, Professor Ova Emilia, expressed her appreciation for the collaboration between PT SMI and RSA UGM in advancing the hospital’s development. She emphasized that RSA UGM is not just a hospital but also one with a special mission in education.
“I believe that the education provided here is of excellent quality,” said Professor Emilia.
The rector added that this collaboration marks the beginning of a new era in the cooperation and development of hospitals owned by State Universities with Legal Entity (PTN-BH) status.

President Director of PT SMI, Reynaldi Hermansjah, conveyed his gratitude for the opportunity to become a pioneer in financing initiatives for PTN-BH institutions in Indonesia.
He stated that this financing scheme represents a strategic step to strengthen the financial management capacity of higher education institutions, enabling them to operate independently while promoting accountable and sustainable public financial governance.
Hermansjah further explained that the financing for the development and construction of RSA UGM adopts the Musyarakah Mutanaqishah (MMq) Sharia-based scheme, reflecting PT SMI’s flexibility and inclusivity in supporting social sectors.
This initiative also demonstrates the company’s commitment to the government’s Asta Cita program, which aims to strengthen the nation’s development in human resources, science, technology, education, and health.
“We hope that our collaboration with Universitas Gadjah Mada will serve as a model and can be replicated by other PTN-BHs across Indonesia,” he said.

Also attending the ceremony was PT SMI’s Director of Financing and Investment, Sylvi J. Gani, who noted that both parties are learning through this pioneering collaboration. She emphasized their continuous efforts to improve processes and facilities to achieve shared goals in PTN BH financing.
“If there are more opportunities ahead, we will be very open to them. We hope PT SMI will be given the first opportunity. We are committed to supporting and providing solutions to any existing challenges,” Gani stated.
