The UGM Faculty of Cultural Sciences firmly commits to preparing its graduates to face the working world.
In line with this, the faculty has designed programs creatively packaged for graduates to enhance their personal qualities before being conferred degrees, such as the two programs held at the faculty on Tuesday (22/8).
The Javanese Literature Program organized the first program with the topic ‘Personal Branding for Entering the Working World.’ The speaker for this program was Giok Kinski, the Puteri Indonesia Intelegensia 1 batch 2023, also an alumna of Universitas Gadjah Mada.
The second program was aimed at inspiring graduates to face the working world. The speaker was Nina Ulfah Nulatutadjie Gaffar, the Director/CEO of PT Wisata Laut Nusapermai, a foreign investment company that owns Kura-Kura Resort in Karimunjawa.
Nina Gaffar is also a shareholder and a Sr. associate for the Land Acquisition and Resettlement Action Plan (LARAP) at PT Idea Cipta Senandika, a legal entity of Indonesia Center for Sustainable Development-ICSD, and the Director of PT Reka Samudra Inspirasi, the owner of the Teroka Nusa brand.
In her presentation, Nina Gaffar motivated the Faculty of Cultural Sciences graduates to step out of their comfort zones and begin pursuing their life choices. She shared her experience building a career in the tourism industry despite having an educational background in archaeology.
