On Friday (8/11), the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding between UGM and PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) on education, research, community service, and the utilization of banking products and services.
The signing of this document strengthens the long-established synergy between the two institutions and aims to achieve common goals.
BTN also provided support through its Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) program during the event by donating 50 bicycles to UGM.
According to the rector, this donation supports UGM’s efforts to create a green campus by providing environmentally friendly transportation within the campus area.
“One of our dreams is to make UGM a green campus with low emissions. What BTN has provided adds to the number of bicycles at UGM, already around 400 units. We hope to promote good health and a healthier environment,” stated Professor Ova Emilia, MD, the Rector of UGM, after the donation ceremony on Friday (8/11).
The CSER program support from BTN is also allocated for the Student Community Service Program (KKN-PPM) in Maluku and the Thousand Islands Regency, which aligns with UGM’s commitment and dedication to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The rector appreciated BTN’s concern and contribution to UGM’s development. She hopes both institutions can continue strengthening their synergy and mutual support in achieving their shared goals.
“UGM welcomes the agenda for collaboration, and we hope that the cooperation built up until now can be continued and developed in the future,” she stated.
In addition to the Memorandum of Understanding signing, an Agreement of Cooperation was signed between BTN and UGM on the BTN Solution Program designed to provide convenient payroll services and credit or consumer financing for UGM employees.
Another Agreement of Cooperation was signed between BTN and the UGM Faculty of Engineering on the property development training and consultation and research that supports the housing finance center (HFC) service.
The President Director of BTN, Nixon L. P. Napitupulu, emphasized that the collaboration between UGM and BTN goes beyond banking services, extending to research activities that provide essential inputs to support the company’s operations.
He also reaffirmed BTN’s commitment to continuing its synergy with UGM and providing the necessary support.
“We thank UGM for its positive response and open collaboration, enabling us to work together effectively. There is still much that can be done, and we will continue to support UGM if it requires assistance from BTN,” said the president director.
