Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has reopened registration for prospective students through the Tridharma Affirmation pathway. This selection is organized as part of UGM’s commitment to prospective students graduating from schools in Indonesia’s Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost (3T) regions; applicants must be nominated by UGM’s tridharma cooperation partners. Registration for the Tridharma Affirmation pathway opened on Feb. 3, 2026, and the application process will close on Feb. 24, 2026.
The Secretary of the Directorate of Education and Teaching at UGM, Dr. Sigit Priyatna, stated that the Tridharma Affirmation pathway is intended for students ranked within the top 40 percent of their class who select study programs aligned with the Regional Development Excellence Plan.
As a specific requirement for New Student Admission (PMB), prospective applicants interested in this pathway must obtain a letter of recommendation from KAGAMA, the Regional Government, or the local Head of the Education Office.
“The letter of recommendation must include a statement confirming that the selected study program aligns with the Regional Development Excellence Plan and a commitment to cover living expenses and tuition fees throughout the student’s studies at UGM,” said Dr. Priyatna on Wednesday (Feb. 11).
Dr. Priyatna emphasized that recommendation letters from relevant partners must be approved by several parties, including the partner institution or the applicant’s regional government of origin, the local Education Office or Provincial Office, and KAGAMA. These three documents may then be submitted by prospective students interested in participating in the Tridharma Affirmation New Student Admission process.
“UGM seeks to ensure that prospective students admitted through the Tridharma Affirmation pathway are truly candidates who will contribute to improving human resources in their respective regions after graduation,” he said.
In the selection process, prospective students applying through the Tridharma Affirmation pathway will undergo several stages. The first stage is administrative screening, and the results will be announced on Mar. 12, 2026. Applicants who pass the administrative screening will then participate in a series of Pre-University activities.
“The Pre-University program is a mandatory learning activity and forms an integral part of the selection process for the Tridharma Affirmation pathway,” he explained.
Dr. Priyatna further elaborated that the Pre-University program will be conducted online via UGM Online and will run from Mar. 30 to May 22, 2026.
“All participants who meet the administrative requirements will experience UGM’s online learning environment,” he added.
As this pathway is part of UGM’s independent admission process, prospective students are encouraged to proactively seek detailed information regarding UGM’s New Student Admission (PMB).
