The Governor of the Indonesian Military Academy (Akmil), Major General Rano Maxim Adolf Tilaar, paid a working visit to Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on Monday, Sep. 29, 2025, at the Multimedia Room I, UGM Central Office. The visit aimed to strengthen institutional relations and build synergy in education, research, and the use of digital technology through the development of smart campuses and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
UGM Rector, Professor Ova Emilia, warmly welcomed the visit.
She emphasized that the concept of a smart campus aligns with the current needs of universities to remain resilient and agile.
Moreover, the Learning Management System (LMS) provides several advantages in facilitating public access to education.
She further highlighted that one of the key missions of universities is not only to produce graduates but also to prepare a high-quality human resource base that is ready to work and create a positive impact on society, the government, and industry.
“Universities must be able to produce graduates who are employable and impactful,” she said.
Major General Rano Maxim Adolf Tilaar expressed his appreciation for UGM as one of the universities with the best LMS systems in Indonesia.
He explained that the military academic community continues to learn and innovate to ensure that military higher education institutions can produce qualified applied defense graduates, particularly amid the ongoing wave of digital transformation.
“This visit serves as an excellent opportunity for us to realize the state’s expectations of the military academy, as our essential role is to develop officers who are ready to face their future duties,” he concluded.
