Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and PT Gotion Indonesia Materials have agreed to collaborate in battery development research.
The agreement was marked by signing a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday (October 10) at Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta.
The UGM Secretary, Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu, who represented UGM, welcomed the collaboration offer from PT Gotion Indonesia Materials. He mentioned this opportunity paves the way for collaboration in various areas.
Dr. Tonralipu explained that research teams at the UGM Faculty of Engineering have long been researching and developing technology to recycle lithium battery waste from various types of electric vehicles.
Therefore, he is very pleased with the forthcoming collaboration and hopes it can be mutually beneficial and contribute to the progress of Indonesia.
“UGM is ready to collaborate in other fields, and we hope this collaboration can be implemented promptly,” Dr. Tonralipu stated.
Li Yingying, public relations director of Gotion Indonesia Materials, explains that Gotion Indonesia Materials is a global company that produces electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems.
Her party is enthusiastic about working with UGM, which has also conducted battery-related research. She hopes that further in-depth discussions can be held to design various collaborative programs.
“We are excited to collaborate and, in the future, we can have more in-depth discussions so that we can promptly implement programs to create a better future for society,” she stated.
In addition to collaborating in battery industry research, PT Gotion Indonesia Materials will provide scholarships, practitioner teaching, internships, and campus hiring.
