Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Jiangsu University of Technology (JUST), China, have agreed to explore opportunities for collaboration in education and research.
The agreement was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the visit of Jiangsu University of Technology to UGM on Wednesday, Jul. 2, 2025, in the Rector’s Guest Room at the UGM Central Office.
The MoU was signed by Professor Dai Guohong, President of JUST, and Dr. Danang Sri Hadmoko, Vice-Rector for Research, Business Development, and Cooperation at UGM.
This partnership opens the door to initiating academic exchanges between JUST and UGM.
Vice-Rector Hadmoko stated that the collaboration between JUST and UGM will further strengthen the ties between the two institutions.
Through this partnership, both universities can actively promote academic and cultural exchanges.
“We have 18 faculties and two schools. At the UGM Vocational School (SV UGM), there is a Chinese Language Study Program that I believe is promising and opens further opportunities for collaboration in education and culture,” he said.
According to Vice-Rector Hadmoko, the partnership enables both UGM and JUST to conduct student, faculty, and researcher exchanges.
He also noted the considerable potential for joint research in various fields, particularly in engineering and culture.
“We are also sharing academic information together. Several UGM faculty members often visit JUST, and we can organize joint lectures involving experts from both JUST and UGM,” he added.
Professor Dai echoed similar sentiments.
He stated that this partnership will yield mutual benefits and emphasized his keen interest in the Faculty of Engineering (FT UGM), SV UGM, and the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB UGM).
