The Community Service Program (KKN-PPM) team from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and the KKN-Bela Negara (KKN-BN) team from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta (UPNVY) collaborated to organize a fun walk in Sukorini Village, Manisrenggo District, Klaten Regency.
The event, held on Sunday, Jul. 27, 2025, aimed to promote healthy lifestyle habits, raise awareness about the importance of regular health check-ups, and foster positive and inclusive intergenerational interaction, while also commemorating National Children’s Day.
Attended by over two hundred participants from nineteen hamlets, the event also featured free health check-ups, children’s art performances, and a local MSME exhibition area that helped stimulate the village economy, opened product promotion opportunities, and empowered local entrepreneurs directly.
“This collaboration can serve as inspiration to create meaningful programs that can be adopted and continued by the communities here in Sukorini,” said Destina Kawanti, Head of the UGM Partnership and Community Service Program Team, on Monday, Jul. 28, 2025.
The UGM KKN-PPM team in Manisrenggo Field Supervisor, Professor Aris Junaidi, also stated that such fun walk activities could contribute to the realization of a healthier, more advanced, and self-reliant Sukorini Village.
“This activity could be a starting point to embed sustainable healthy living habits and support economic development and self-reliance,” he explained.
He further emphasized that the collaborative KKN initiative also plays a significant role in encouraging all parties to continue supporting positive initiatives that strengthen the spirit of healthy living, enhance community solidarity, and empower local potential through social, artistic, and community-based economic activities.
