Three students from the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) in Animal Science and Industry, UGM Faculty of Animal Sciences (Fapet UGM), participate in the MBKM internship program at the Sumiyoshi Livestock Station, Miyazaki University, Japan.
The students participating in the MBKM internship program from mid-May to mid-August 2024 are Alma Zhahira Elvaretta Wibawa, Radedya Wardhana Putra, and Muhammad Yazida Rizky.
Before departing on May 14, 2024, the three received briefing sessions from the Dean of Fapet UGM, Professor Budi Guntoro; the Head of the Animal Science and Industry Program, Dr. Tri Satya Mastuti Widi; the Secretary of the Animal Science and Industry Program, Dr. Muhlisin; and the Coordinator of Domestic Cooperation, Dr. Yogi Sidik Prasojo, on Monday (May 13).
Dr. Tri Widi mentioned that 11 students from the 2021 class of the program will be participating in internships and student exchange programs in various countries. They include five students in Japan, 2 in Australia, 1 in Thailand, 2 in South Korea, and 1 in the Netherlands.
“The internship at Miyazaki University is one of the forms of cooperation between Fapet UGM and Miyazaki University that has long been established, and it’s the first internship program for IUP students at Fapet UGM,” Dr. Tri Widi shared.
“This international exposure program includes internships and student exchanges as seen in South Korea, the Netherlands, Thailand, and Australia.”
Dean Budi Guntoro hopes the students can make the most of their internship activities to gain experience and enhance their capacities.
“Take care of your health and uphold UGM’s good reputation there,” Dean Guntoro advised.
Alma Wibawa, representing her two colleagues, expressed her joy and pride in participating in the internship at Miyazaki University. She hopes that this internship will allow her to gain more experience and knowledge in the field of animal husbandry that she is studying.
