Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has clinched six awards at the 2023 Indonesian Public Relations Awards (Anugerah Humas Indonesia/AHI) organized by Humas Indonesia. The award ceremony occurred on Friday (November 3) in Semarang, Central Java.
The six awards received were the Silver Winner for the Best Public Information and Documentation Management Official (PPID) in the sub-category of PPID, Silver Winner for the Best PPID in the sub-category of Implementing PPID, Silver Winner for Innovative Public Information Transparency Services in the sub-category of Information Management and Presentation, Bronze Winner for Innovative Public Information Transparency Services in the sub-category of Public Information Service Reports, Gold Winner for Government Public Relations (GPR) Programs in the sub-category of Higher Education Institutions, and Bronze Winner for Digital Channels in the sub-category of Instagram.
The UGM Public Relations Coordinator, Dr. Dina W. Kariodimedjo, expressed that these achievements represent a significant success and prove the UGM PR team’s performance in establishing a professional public relations approach, especially in promoting public information transparency.
“These achievements are the result of the collaborative work of the entire UGM community,” she said after receiving the awards.
Dr. Kariodimedjo stated that this success was due to the support of the UGM’s Rector and leadership, who are firmly committed to fulfilling the mandate of the Public Information Openness Law in providing easy access to information services for the public.
This commitment was realized through various programs and services that offer accurate, transparent, and accountable information.
One such initiative involves strengthening the Public Information and Documentation Management Official (PPID) through technology and media, including new media and public education.
“Moving forward, we hope UGM’s achieved milestones can be continuously improved through various innovations, further contributing significantly to benefiting society,” she emphasized.
AHI is a public relations competition organized by Humas Indonesia, part of the PR Indonesia Group.
This competition is a benchmark for communication and information openness for public institutions (government public relations/GPR), local governments, state-owned enterprises, and public service agencies across Indonesia.
In its fifth year, the AHI focused on the overarching theme of Information Transparency for Sustainable Public Institutions with a Reputable Image, featuring the participation of 47 institutions and a total of 240 entries.
Five categories were contested in the 2023 AHI: innovative public information transparency services, best PPID, internal media, digital channels, and government public relations (GPR) programs.
