The UGM Bridge Unit has secured trophies from the 2023 Yogyakarta Bridge Championship.
The competition occurred on Saturday (November 4) in Wonosari, Gunungkidul. The competition categories were divided based on age groups, including U-13, U-16, U-19, U-26, and open categories.
Each age group category was further divided into teams and pairs. UGM Bridge sent representatives to the U-19 and U-26 age groups.
Each team and pair competed against other teams and pairs in the same age group category. After all matches were completed, the scores from each victory were accumulated, and the highest score was taken as the winner.
UGM Bridge swept five trophies, including 1st place in the team category for the U-26 age group, consisting of Maulana, Afix, Wahyu, Fitri, Nicolas, and Fahru.
The students also secured 2nd place in the team category for the U-19 age group, with members Sean, Darina, Dzaky, Adelia, Arsya, and Devan.
In the pair category, they won 1st place in the U-26 age group with Afix and Fitri and 2nd place with Maulana and Wahyu. Additionally, they clinched 1st place in the pair category for the U-19 age group with Sean and Darina.
Wahyu Micho Indrawan, a UGM Bridge member, expressed that this activity benefits the unit as it can add to their achievements. This could serve as preparation for more championships in the future.
“Perhaps in the future, UGM Bridge can participate in many more championships because this year, we could only participate in six championships. Hopefully, we can achieve even more success,” he concluded.
