Professor Nindyo Pramono has retired after more than 44 years of service as an educator at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FH UGM).
As one of Indonesia’s foremost business law experts, Professor Pramono has educated thousands of law graduates, many of whom have become accomplished legal professionals.
To honor Professor Pramono’s dedication as an educator, FH UGM held a retirement ceremony on Saturday (Aug. 4), accompanied by the launch of the Corporate Law book in the Faculty of Law’s auditorium.
The event was attended by UGM Rector Professor Ova Emilia, Chair of the PP Kagama Ganjar Pranowo, and his fellow lecturers from the Faculty of Law.
Professor Pramono is known for his active involvement in business law and is highly respected by his students for his dedication. Ganjar Pranowo, an alumnus of FH UGM, expressed his gratitude and pride as a former student. He was honored to have been mentored by Professor Pramono, whom he idolized since his university days.
“The lessons he imparted will never be forgotten,” said Pranowo.
Dr. Dahliana Hasan, Dean of FH UGM, acknowledged that Professor Pramono inspired the development of business law at FH UGM.
“He not only contributed to the development of business law but also to the growth of the institution. He provided opportunities for us, the lecturers, to contribute,” Dean Dahliana Hasan reflected.
Professor Emilia also remarked that Professor Pramono had inspired students to become graduates of integrity.
“As a doctor, I hope that his spirit of spreading knowledge and passion to students and the surrounding environment continues to thrive,” Professor Emilia stated.
Fellow faculty members also shared their fond memories. Professor Nurhasan Ismail mentioned that he learned much from Professor Pramono, who balanced work and research.
Hearing the testimonials from his colleagues and former students, Professor Pramono expressed his deep emotion and gratitude. He also thanked everyone for their continued support.
“If God allows me to continue working, I am grateful that I can still contribute and pass on my knowledge to students,” he said.
During the retirement ceremony, the book Contributions to Business Law for Indonesia’s Development, a collection of writings by Professor Pramono’s colleagues from UGM’s Business Law Department, was also launched.
This was followed by a discussion of Professor Pramono’s book Corporate Law. Additionally, Ganjar Pranowo, accompanied by Professor Emilia, Dr. Hasan, and Professor Paripurna Sugarda, inaugurated the Secretariat of the Gadjah Mada Law Alumni Family (Kahgama) at FH UGM.
