Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) expresses its gratitude for the public’s criticism, feedback, and attention regarding the regulations governing Wisdom Park. This feedback is an important part of UGM’s efforts to improve communication, services, and area management so that Wisdom Park can benefit both the university community and the wider public.
Regarding a visitor’s complaint about a Rp129,500 charge for using a mat, which circulated on social media, UGM clarifies that, at the time of the incident, Wisdom Park management provided information and explained the applicable tariff regulations. The management did not collect the stated fee from the individual concerned, either at the time of the incident or afterward.
Wisdom Park was established in 2010 and has continued to be developed and maintained ever since. The area primarily supports the university’s three missions: education, research, and community service.
In addition, Wisdom Park serves as a green open space for sports and recreation for both the UGM community and the general public.
Area Usage Regulations and Tariffs
UGM applies regulations governing the use of Wisdom Park’s areas and facilities, as stipulated in the park’s management rules and UGM Rector’s Regulation No. 4 of 2026 concerning UGM Residence Tariff Standards (http://ugm.id/STUGMR2026).
Educational activities, such as lectures and practical sessions, as well as supporting activities, including training sessions for student activity units, are exempt from charges. Activities outside the scope of learning that require the dedicated use of an area or facility must follow the applicable permit procedures and tariff regulations.

In addition, outdoor sports activities at Wisdom Park are free of charge, while sports activities at the Wisdom Park Kebangsaan Sports Hall are subject to the applicable tariffs.
Tariffs for certain activities take into account the number of participants and the duration of area use. Rates also vary by service type and whether users are affiliated with UGM or are external users.
Certain activities aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and supported by Wisdom Park may be considered for tariff exemptions or concessions, in line with UGM’s commitment to achieving sustainable development goals.
Area Usage Procedures
Requests to use Wisdom Park can be submitted by letter to the General Manager of UGM Residence or by completing an area usage form available at the Wisdom Park Kebangsaan Sports Hall office. Management will provide further information on procedures, requirements, and applicable tariffs based on the planned activity.
UGM is also committed to continuing to create opportunities for collaboration with various parties in organizing activities that support education, research, community service, and sustainable development.
To make information more accessible, Wisdom Park management will link the Wisdom Park information channel through its official social media accounts and add information on area usage and tariffs to the Wisdom Park website.
These updates are currently in progress. Information on park regulations and facility use is available through the official Wisdom Park website and the Wisdom Park Usage Rules page.
UGM appreciates all public feedback and is committed to using it to evaluate and improve the clarity, transparency, and quality of information and services. Through open communication and sustainable management, Wisdom Park is expected to remain a safe, comfortable, orderly, and beneficial space for the university community and the wider public.
